Obs .: I will try to explain how I made this memory, I am saying this because, when I made it, I had no idea that one day I would create this blog… that means…. that I didn’t take any picture, except for it already ready.
But I can say that it is not difficult to do it, but you have to be patient, as you need to sew, glue, cut, etc … and there are several pieces to compose it, so for that reason it takes a little work.
Do it thinking about the goal, which is to decorate your child’s party, and please your guests, and I’m sure everyone will love it, even asking if you do it to sell!
Imagine, you naively just making souvenirs for your son or daughter’s birthday, discover that you have a gift? Do you discover what you can do to profit? That would be wonderful don’t you think?
Ah … lastly … you’ll be melting at the end of the party with lots of compliments … just like I was … lol …
So let’s go to the bill of materials?
For this chick, it doesn’t require much, as follows:
For the 25 chicks, I needed:
2 to 3 meters of Yellow Felt.
- Felt in colors: white, black, brown and pumpkin.
- Embroidery thread in yellow and brown colors.
- For the filling, try to use synthetic cotton, much softer (also called acrylic cotton, cotton for filling or feather)
- Universal glue
Now, follow the template: (Click on the template to enlarge, before printing
When printing the mold, feel free to choose the size you want to make the chick ok?
And forgive me if the mold is badly made, but I had to make it by hand …
Cutting out the mold:
Make a copy of the scratches, cut and pin the template to the felt. (cut a little bigger than the mold, because at the time of sewing, the character usually decreases his size a little.
Attention: Cut out only the body, as the dotted parts are just a demonstration of how the pieces will fit together.
In the second mold, are the pieces for cutting ok?
Then take the second mold and cut out the pieces. The wings, the feet, will be 1 pair each, and they will take filling.
Then sew only the body of the chick, and when it is almost all sewn it will be time to put the filling and finish the seam. Use the buttonhole stitch throughout the seam for a more beautiful finish.
Sew the wings, joining 2 cutout molds of the wing with the help of a pin and sew them using the buttonhole stitch, and when it is almost all sewn it will be time to put the filling and finish the seam
Do the same procedure for the feet and when it is almost all sewn it will be time to put the filling and finish the seam
Note: Who does not know how to make the buttonhole stitch, do not despair. Look for videos on youtube. There are several that will help you.
If it’s a comfort … I didn’t know it either, and I learned by watching videos. It is very quiet and learn fast !!!
Well… andHaving all the pieces sewn together, it is time to start placing the outer parts.
Sew the wings on the chick in the same way as the pattern. See the dotted area.
Place the chick’s foot also using the seam.
As for the other pieces, you will use universal glue for: eyes, beak and eyebrows.
And now only the finish is left. Whether you want to put it in a plastic bag and tapes, or not …
The chick was ready.
Good…. I really hope I helped, because without illustrative photo it gets a little difficult. But anyone who has doubts, you can ask me without problems. It will be a pleasure to help further.
